There is a room inside the Kaaba, with the interior made of limestone and marble. The building itself is a cube-like one, with a height close to 45 feet. The Kaaba is the holiest site for all Muslims and annually it is estimated that it is visited by over 3 million people during the period of hajj. Besides, as it is stated in the Koran, every Muslim in the world should perform an act of pilgrimage (a hajj) at least once in their life and arrive at the Kabe (getting there preferably by feet) in order to perform the ritual of Tawaf. When performing salat (a special Muslim prayer), all Muslims from around the world have to stay facing the direction of the Kaaba (this direction is called the qibla). The Kaaba is considered to be the "House of God" and it plays an extremely important role for all the Muslims in the world. The Kaaba or Ka'aba is the most sacred place for Muslims, and it is a cuboid construction located in the center of Al-Masjid-al-Haram, a huge mosque in the city of Mecca, which can be found in the western region of Saudi Arabia. ![]() Religious Centers ยป The Kaaba, Mecca, Saudi Arabia
